REusable dry cleaning bags

In the U.S., more than1.4 billion pieces of clothing are dry-cleaned each year, and over 300 million pounds of plastic waste are generated just to protect and transport garments with these single-use bags!  

Make the simple and easy switch from disposable to reusable garment bags!  Many dry cleaners will give clients a reusable bag upon request. Or they are offered for sale by companies, such as Green Garmento or Coverto Bag.

While these bags are currently accepted for curbside recycling in Greenwich, they are difficult to sort and can jam or damage the machinery at the material recovery facility.  Note that when Greenwich adopts CT's new "What's In, What's Out" guidelines, plastic bags of any kind will not be acceptable recyclables.
